The UK Government launched the Office for the Impact Economy in November 2025 (with ongoing momentum into 2026), creating a dedicated “single front door” to partner with social investors, purpose-driven businesses, philanthropists, and charities.
The initiative aims to unlock billions in impact capital—mobilising private and philanthropic resources alongside public funds—to drive inclusive growth, support local communities, address national challenges like housing and child poverty, and accelerate national renewal.
This cross-government office, housed in the Cabinet Office and led by Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones MP, responds directly to recommendations from the Social Impact Investment Advisory Group (SIIAG) and signals stronger collaboration between the impact sector and policymakers.
